Migrating servers

I have a n40l with a system disk and two extra data disc running whs2011

My ml110 g7 turns up Monday, is it just a case of installing whs and plugging data disks.

Hey Mike, not really sure - never tried it with WHS2011. Not using the OS specific storage pooling anyway.

If it's anything like 2K8R2 it should be installing a fresh OS on the new server, inserting the hard disks and initialising them. Can't speak for WHS2011 though.

Aslong as there isnt any HW RAID being done, shouldnt be too much of an issue with moving the disks from one chassis to another and booting off your OS disk.

HW RAID = parallel install and migrate, generally.
