Hi Just wondering is it possible in any way of migrating you OSW7 premium.
Am planning to upgrade my daughters pc which is a 32 bit Pro edition, to a 64 bit.
If I was to buy an ultimate edition im interested to know If this overwrites the old system on her hard drive, that I can then switch The drives between pc"s ? and they will work.
I suppose this question is relevent to when sometime in future when I replace the motherboard .
So is a copy of windows usable in this way or do I have to always buy new copies when performing these type of actions ?
Many thanks

Thanks for the reply Burnsy2023.
My daughter has a basic pc, slowly bit by bit its being upgraded with a graphics card from intergrated, A q6600 processor from a celeron.
she has 4GB of ram however 32 bit only utilizes approx 3GB.
Its not a question of really needing an ultimate edition however If im in the market for a single use version of a windows 64 bit an extra 20 quid or so rather than a premium or pro edition seems an idea to futureproof. However not the main issue Priority is a 64 bit version.
If I go for a pro or premium it doesnt matter Ill just do a clean install from scratch after removing the 32 bit version.
However the question applies if I get hold of an ultimate edition ideally I would like to put it in the main PC and swap that 64 bit premium version into my daughters pc.
Is it just a case of swapping hard drives over ? or would an installed W7 only work with the current Bios/motherboard?
This is also of interested when at some point I may upgrade the motherboard.
Hope this clarifys a little thanks

Unfortunately not both pc"s came pre installed from manufacturer with their OS
Im guessing therefore I dont hold the licences as the owner as they prob bought in block at discount by the pc manufacturer .
Thanks

Thats what I was afraid of . Cheers.
So I guess at some point Ill have to purchase a 2 or 3 use version. But at least ill have the flexibility no matter how I configure me systems and will last until windows 7 is redundent .
Many thanks for your help .
