I'm currently running a watercooled setup based off of the Zalman Reserator 1v2 (its had a few modifications - Laing 18W pump, OCZ Hydroflow CPU block, an EK block for the 4870X2 and a 120x2 radiator to help dump the heat). CPU temps hold at about 40C on the desktop, stress testing pushes towards the high 50s. Not too shabby, considering the Radeon is running at 772/950 and the Q6600 is at 3GHz.

What I'd like opinions on are my plans for the Easter weekend.

The first thing I'm thinking about is to put the CPU onto its own little loop so the Radeon and the CPU aren't heating each other. What I've got in mind is a drivebay radiator/pump combo plus a radiator. The case might get a little cramped. but that's not a major problem with careful design.

The second and somewhat more extreme idea is to move the radiators out of the case entirely and into something along the lines of a drinks chiller or small fridge. Obviously if the radiators are exposed to temperatures of 5C rather than 20C, it should result in colder coolant and thus colder parts.

So...am I going slightly mad here?

Yes.:p

This has been discussed hundreds, if not thousands of times before. Fridges are not designed to dissipate a few hundred Watts of heat.
