Can anyone give me a run down of the tastes/strengths of major brands?
I gave Old Holborn a try and today I have a really rough throat from just 1 filtered roll.

Golden Virginia/Golden Virginia yellow
Amber Leaf
Cutters Choice
Drum/drum gold
Gold leaf
Old Holborn

I used to smoke regal/embassy cigs (same make as GV) but wouldn't mind getting something even weaker since I only have 1 on odd occasions.

I know the health risks and cost.
Cheers

Amber Leaf was pretty much the mildest when I used to buy it. I've not had all of your list, though, only GV, OH, Drum and AL.

I quite enjoy "American Spirit" it's supposedly additive free, might be worth a shot if you can find it near you. Apart from that I stick to Golden Virginia or Cutter's Choice.
