Military talk ideas

Setting will just be in a classroom, there will be soldiers ranked Privates to Staff Sergeants. Its not a massive thing to be honest, probably only doin it cos they cant think of anything else they can get us to do

I think you should talk about how to calculate how far back you have to start BEHIND the RN/RNR/RM/RMR/Sea Scouts when on parade because of the difference in marching pace. And of course you can always point out that the crabs have to start 50 yards to the left given their marching style. It always goes down a storm in mixed company.

It also gives plenty of scope to discuss all the foreigner sterotypes eg. Italians marching backwards, Germans marching into Austria no matter where they start, Americans unable to march without a 3-month shock and awe bombing campaign first etc. etc. etc.

Improvised explosives and traps, do a presentation on how easy to make and disguise they are, and the ways in witch they are planted, positioned, and more importantly how vehicle's and men can be protected against them.

It's a very interesting topic, and is very relevant at this time :)

You could do a talk on how/why most squaddies talk ridiculously fast and (regardless of origin) seem to come out of the army with a faint Vicky Pollard-esque West Country accent.

Well that's what I've noticed anyway.

If that happens to me then hunt me down and kill me.
