* Milkyway@home runs a lot faster on ATI GPU's, it does work on nvidia GPU's (min. GTX260) but you would be better off running SETi@Home
on that hardware if you want to get the very best out of it, having said that a new application could be released at any
time that could change that situation.

Milkyway@Home requires a GPU supporting Double Precision arithmetic.

Cheers for the news. :)

Quick question: are there planned outage days on the MW@H servers like there are with seti... or is downtime just random/unexpected?

Random but its never off for long so dont worry about it, if you do end up with some downtime due to lack of work just run a backup project, thats what most of us do mate :)

Hope this all works as its my first post:)

Bah, some people in here get crazy RAC. Well it seems like my 4890 can only provide so far. Hope SI will provide a decent boost in Milkyway@home compared with the 5870.

I currently have two 4850x2's and a 4770 running MW but have just snagged a sapphire 5970 4GB toxic on the bay at a silly price (hope its not a scam):(

If its not a scam this should do 300k on its own:D

Ba joining Milkyway and seti is a massive bonus - welcome s'ah, its good to have you...
Noticed I got a tiffy - not a big one, but slow and steady is the game, I just dont have a rig I can stick an ati card in at the mo, it will have to wait for AMD and bulldozer before I upgrade to an ati based solution

I'm out of action for a bit, the Mint install i had running BOINC suddenly decided to loose all forms of networking... so i've been using Peppermint while i try to fix it. Shouldn't be long now, just need to add a few lines to the networking config file but... i'm 'Ewan' by the way :p
