* Milkyway@home runs a lot faster on ATI GPU's, it does work on nvidia GPU's (min. GTX260) but you would be better off running SETi@Home
on that hardware if you want to get the very best out of it, having said that a new application could be released at any
time that could change that situation.

Milkyway@Home requires a GPU supporting Double Precision arithmetic.

NVIDIA:
Compute Capability 1.3 and Above
Geforce GTX 295
Geforce GTX 285
Geforce GTX 280
Geforce GTX 275
Geforce GTX 260
Tesla S1070
Tesla C1060
Quadro Plex 2200 D2
Quadro FX 5800
Quadro FX 4800
(Based on GT200 GPU)

ATI:
ATI HD Radeon 5970
ATI HD Radeon 4870x2
ATI HD Radeon 5870
ATI HD Radeon 4850x2
ATI HD Radeon 5850
ATI HD Radeon 5830
ATI HD Radeon 4890
ATI HD Radeon 4870
ATI HD Radeon 4850
ATI HD Radeon 4770
ATI HD Radeon 4830
ATI HD Radeon 38x0

ATI Firestream 9270
ATI Firestream 9250
ATI Firestream 9170

If you only have an AGP graphics slot the Radeon HD3850 AGP will also do double precision, RAC approx. 25K to 30K

First off, my apologies for my extended news outage :o , you may have noticed Q1 in the title - in future there will be 4 issue's of the news per year.
With the amount of forum traffic that Milkyway generates I think thats sufficient as things stand.

Well I will kick things off with .............

H'onwards and upwards :)

Einstein news would be great, im running the new cuda app as of yesterday to see how it goes but its going to hurt my seti output.

Didn't know about the new app till you mentioned it the other day, will be interested in your observations.

Hopefully it does'nt still eat cpu resources as it was a tad ridiculous for what you got out of it.

I think its the hardest Boinc project out there for credit so any improvements would be more than welcome.

The new app loads up the GPU's im running G92's to between 50 and 60% i think CPU is about 20% of one core.

You can now use an app info file to run multiple tasks per core (not tried this yet) getting GPU load into the low 90's:)

You see this is why we need Einstein news:p

Well I might give it a shot but as you say it will hurt my Seti output also, or maybe Milkyway

........damn it I cant cover em all :( choices choices

Alright already, Einstein news is now in production :D

I hear ya, ive been thinking about dropping back on seti as you and Mr Toxic have that one covered and maybe selling a couple of 5970's to fund nvidia gpu upgrades.
My upgrade funds all got sucked into Hydra for folding (I blame Biffa):D

Alright already, Einstein news is now in production
;)

Now that the MilkyWay have fixed their database and the stats have updated, I can post this :)

cpartcert1.php

More to come soon I hope. Especially if I can get the box with my 5970 in to stop BSODing

Stats sorted but now no work ..............aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

Great tiffy but your gettin a tad to close for comfort, these remote bsod transmitters are awesome :p

Ive got 4 5970's (one on rma) and they are a real pain ive found catalyst 10.5 drivers to be the most stable but i still get random crashes even at stock:mad:

Ba and Phil

You RAC has been dropping all day, the downloads borked in the early hours.
Trouble is Boinc manager just backs off for ages - you need to give it a poke :)

OOh I've just joined upto this as I realised it had an ATi client. One 4870 to add to the crunching for OcUK. I'm amazed at how quick it is at crunching I've got 1543 credit for about 30 minutes crunching!! woohoooooo.
