Would get back into MW@H but running F@H (CPU) at the same time throttles the GPU WU speed, e.g from 27 secs a WU to near 50s.

Hi Phil, things are so so, get made redundant end of this month, not all bad though, reasonable payout
due so time to go shopping for some much overdue upgrades.

Recommendations for best output per watt keeping total load under 300 watts?

As long as you give MW higher CPU priority it should be ok and shouldn't slow down CPU crunching significantly because MW GPU WUs hardly use any CPU.

Probably a 7870XT, might go over 200w a bit but any lower power GPUs have MUCH lower double precision performance. The only cards really worth having for MW are the Tahiti based ones so 7970, 7950 or 7870XT
Looks like its the 7950 then, I'll just have to put up with the 250w.

Update: GPU's arrived as planned, was about to put them in and thought I dont really
want to put new GPU's in there, so I have decided to replace everything in 2 cases.
Should be up and running by Sunday the 17th as I have 90% of the kit already.
