Hey guys, I won some tickets to snow patrol tomorrow at the O2 arena, formally the millennium dome,

I’m coming from Southampton and in the past when travelling to London I park in Richmond and then tube it, I need to be there at 7pm to claim my guest pass, just wondering if the parking is any good there? And if not where would be a sensible place to drive to missing traffic if possible and being only a few tube stops away.

Sorry a bit random, but any help would be great

Park up in Charlton/Woolwich and get a bus?
The dome has a massive car park, but I'm not sure how much it is to get in.

TOok us an hour to even move within the carpark to get out after Bon Jovi, and then another hour to goet onto the road - get the tube!

Where's your seat? If it's in block 400+ then I hope you don't get vertigo :D

i'm coming up on the M3 and the first thing i hit if i don't take the M25 is richmond, - how far is Richmond away from Millidome area?

i have standing tickets so no worries with the seats!

I can walk there in 25mins from my gaff ;) or take the bus and be there in 10 :)

Parkingwise, there is loads of parking in Greenwich Peninsular, by B&Q and sainsburys and its only a 15min walk from there, though when we were driving back from Essex at the weekend there obviously was loads of traffic arriving for Bon Jovi.

Getting the tube or train from London Bridge to Charlton is probably your best bet.

Richmond is the other side of London from the Dome. Fortunately the trains are excellent and it'll take you about 25 mins to get to Waterloo and another 20 to get to the dome. Probablly quicker than driving through London.

As for OP, as someone has said, get the overland to Waterloo then Jubilee line, will be much less of a hassle. Used to do a similar journey from Winchester which is on the same line. Door to door, about 2 hours ish

ditto, tube is by far the easiest way to get to them dome or anywhere in London for that matter.

16:38 train from Southampton gets you into Waterloo for 17:50, then it's 15 minutes on the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich.

Trains run back to Southampton until midnight as well.

20mins from Waterloo to the dome?! More like 10 - it's only 4 or 5 stops on Jubilee.

ok i think i will drive to Kew, (1 hour 20 mins) park for free then

Kew Gardens x District
Gunnersbury
Turnham Green
Stamford Brook
Ravenscourt Park
Hammersmith
Barons Court
West Kensington
Earl's Court
Gloucester Road
South Kensington
Sloane Square
Victoria
St. James's Park
Westminster x change to Jubilee
Waterloo
Southwark
London Bridge
Bermondsey
Canada Water
Canary Wharf
North Greenwich

seems a little crazy, but the M25 could be a killer!

WHY are you driving?? The trains from soton are ****-easy and you can get the fast service.

did O2 buy the dome off of the tax payer?

How can they change the name from the dome to the name of a company.

What's wembley stadium now called Vodafone stadium?

Im pretty sure the o2 arena just refers to the arena inside the millenium dome. So i guess the sponsership deal includes the o2 name kind of thing.

the dome was bought by some entertainment group who have arenas and stadiums all over the world, they then auctioned off the official name for the whole building and o2 got the deal and so the dome is called the o2 now

The whole dome complex is called 'The O2' now, the O2 Arena is just the music venue inside.

EDIT whoops didn't see posty's post ;)

We we're in suite 236 for the opening on the 23rd. :p
I was on the floor above that night, and I hate heights

Took me a couple of beers before I could look down in time for Peter Kay. ;)
