Hi All,
Just thought I'd give a bit of info for anyone going to the Milton Keynes bowl. I went last Thursday to see Mr Robbie Williams ...Top Show..
and before I went I had checked the Bowls web site for the list of things you can and can't take into the bowl. Well what a complete waste of time as when you got there there was no bag search at all just some bod asking for your ticket!!! So I could have taken anything to drink or eat in with me as the price for a tray of chips was..... £4.50 or even higher at some stalls ..the robbing ****** I'd wished now that I'd taken my camcorder as the quailty on my phone was crap.

Cheers Buck

This is excellent news.
We are off to see Mr. Williams on Tuesday next week (19th) and we were a little worried about taking a camera.
I know on the MK site it mentions "No advanced cameras".
My fiancee has a Fuji FinePix S5500 - now this is certainly not an advanced camera, however it's a 10x Optical Zoom "SLR Style" camera and we were a little worried about taking it in.
We're parking about 2 minutes walk from the venue (local school offers £10 parking that you can buy in advance) so if we were stopped it wouldn't have taken too long to go and take the camera back to the car.

We managed to get "Golden Circle" tickets and rather hoped we might be able to get some good pictures from where we were going to be but knew mobile phone cameras wouldn't be up to the job.

Thank you very much for the report back.

Hey stoofa,
How did you find out about the local school that offers £10 parking that you can buy in advance??? which school and how do you book (might use it the next time I go there). I have the same camera wished I 'd took mine  Also How did you manage to get you hands on the golden tickets?? Make sure you take something to sit on eg-plastic sheet while your waiting to see robbie especialy if you getting there a few hours before it starts.... 6.00pm-6.30pm is Orson
6.45pm-7.45pm is Basement Jaxx
8.30pm-10.30pm is the one and only Mr Robbie Williams

Cheers Buck :D

I'll PM you the details about the local school.
Apparently they do it for all the gigs - however you can't arrive before 4:00pm I think it is on a "school day" for the kids safety etc.
Ah - I've found the details, not quite as I described them: :)

http://www.mkweb.co.uk/Bowl/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=34131

They are actually a 10-15 minute walk from the bowl.
It's £5 on the day or for guaranteed parking, if you contact them in advance they will sell you a space for £10.
We e-mailed them, sent them our car registration and a cheque and by return they sent us a "parking ticket" for use on Tuesday.

As for how we got the golden circle tickets - I ask my other half on a near daily basis and she still tells me it was a fluke.
I got a call from her to tell me that the MK tickets were being sold (If I remember correctly these were tagged on afterwards because he was supposed to be playing the new Wembley).
I said I'd get online and try and secure some.
I had the usual hassle of websites not being up to the task and falling over etc.
I got through and couldn't get any tickets for the weekend nights we wanted, so called her back to check on which night to go for.
She calmly said "I was about to call you...."
SHe had been online, simply checked the "Best Available" check button, chose her night and then clicked "Yes" when two tickets had come up.
"They are golden tickets of something" she said.
I got home, looked at the confirmation e-mail and she'd paid I think it was around £10 over the "standard" pricing and they were for the Golden Circle.

You lucky pair.... Looks like it was a case of right place right time!!! Your going to be really close to the stage, you'll have a great time trust me. Thanks for the info on the school will deafo use that the next time I vist the bowl.

Cheers Buck :D

Thanks for the original post here.
We took my fiancee's camera and they didn't even question it.
We also managed to sneak some alcohol in along with the soft drinks (which were allowed) so no being hit hard by the crazy prices inside.

Excellent concert, really enjoyed it.
It is of course the fiancee who is the bigger fan, but I'm certainly pleased I was there.
Although we were in the Golden Circle it was still hard to get good pictures.
Once you get the high zoom on the camera (up to 10x) so you can actually see what is going on then of course the slightest shake and the whole image is ruined.
Still haven't gone through all of my pictures yet, there are far more being "moved to archive" than will ever make it online anywhere.

Picture of the concert so far from my selection I've linked to below.
It just managed to capture one of those "end of song" moments.
It's a picture of moment rather than amazing content if that makes sense....
