Hi all,

I'm wondering how routers with 3 antenna (specifically the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND) use their antenna.

Are they linked together like 1+3 and 2 is seperate or are they all together 1+2+3.

Hope this makes sense.

Tom

They uses something called spatial multiplexing (SM) which is rather complex to explain on this forum, go to wikapedia and do a search for MIMO there is full explanations there.

But this can be done with 2 or more antennas.

Which model are you referring to pyropetepete?

Probably this

I've been thinking about getting one, but think I'm just going to get the Asus RT-N66U instead :p

Any TP-LINK product that has 3 aerials on, AP or router. I been playing with an AP today and i got an extra 100m and 1mbps.

I do have the above item, been using it as an AP and waiting 3 8 dBi's for it to push it some more

Yeah, I saw there were three on OCUK with three antenna (one at £80) which is why I asked :-) No point aiming for an inferior product.

Good to know that three antenna actually make a difference :-)

Id only go with TP-LINK on the MIMO and mutli anenta bieng of use and good. They really do work at it.

The ASUS thing i could pee in a bigger range that it covered for the £160 it's worth.
