min gfx card for cod4 ?

i want to play on max settings @ 1680x1050 with insane dead body counts

Whats the minimum gfx card i need ?

I currently have an ati x1950 pro which can do this, however gameplay is a bit clumsy lag wise.

Im wondering if the x1950xt would be enough ?

anyway, i need something quiet, and cheap as possible please.

I'd try to sell the 1950pro and go for a HD3850. Very good card for the money and run much cooler and quieter than an x1950xt. I had a sapphire one with the single slot cooling solution and it was silent even when gaming.

Perfomance wise it's around double your 1950pro.

Hello twoblacklines, I used to play Call Of Duty 4 with a x1950xt at a resolution of 1920x1200 and it ran extremely well. Since I gave the x1950xt to my parents, I am actually looking at purchasing a new graphics card. The graphics card that I am looking at buying is the PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro Extreme 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express). Looking at a number of reviews and benchmarks, the performance that it offers seems fantastic for the price that it is currently retailing at.

thanks, although not sure my mobo (Asrock Dual Sata) has 2.0 PCI express, would this be a big drawback and make the card run slower?
