Can somebody please explain this to me? I know that's not really possible as it's a bit of a mystery, but still.

my friend showed this to me a few years ago. He's a genius. He's probably going to study physics at imperial or something. It's really interesting, isn't it, how some particles just defy logical thinking!

I find the opposite, things sometimes don't work correctly until you show somebody, then they work perfectly
