Hey guys, trying to play Minecraft with my gf for the first time over LAN.

I start a game session on my pc and open it to LAN, it shows up instantly on the second PC but when I click join I get this:
minecraft failed to login invalid session (try restarting your game)

Now I'll be honest, this may not be a purchased version of the game (wanted to try before I buy!) - does anyone know if I need to have legit version of it to work properly?

(I always buy games normally but I think it's fair to have a proper go on it before I splash the cash!)

Also, when I launch it, I get the option to login in premium mode with email and pw rather than just username, I'm guessing this is what perhaps registers the game as a legit version and enables lan perhaps?

Cheers!

Minecraft happens to be possibly one of the best games the PC platform has seen since the original Doom or Half Life. The survival aspect alone (early game) as night sets in is tense and exploring is hugely fun as there is a lot to discover. If you are imaginative then you can make some lovely buildings.

Minecraft Feed The Beast (see modpacks) builds upon minecraft even moreso with a ton of new mechanics, machines, mobs, magic etc.

In short I wouldn't even question not buying it :)

I like minecraft I just think its expensive having to buy two copies if I want to play on my LAN with my nephew every few weeks so had to modify the server.properties file and disable the online mode, as the pc he uses doesn't have internet access
