a lot, but we've had a lot of griefing lately, which has been an arse to clean up.

Sorry for following you round, just had to check to make sure you weren't gonna go deleting stuff. :D
 
Who is responsible for promoting admins?

I'd like to put myself forward - someone griefed one of my buildings today (now fixed) and I've just been on and tried to follow around a random guy but it's a bit hard... and there's nothing I can do anyway! Would also like to help with working on the sewers etc.

Hopefully the majority of people know me by now and what I've contributed etc so any chance to help out more would be great :).
 
100% No problem with you being an admin not sure who can give you the power though, btw your water pipe in the sewer flooded part of it we had to go round cleaning it out yesterday, side effect of this is your water pipe no longer exists :(
 
I just joined a server that had a good idea. You join inside a "jail" where you can still see most of the buildings but you can't escape because there are admin blocks all around. Anyone who wants to play regularly get admin otherwise they have to be released.
 
Just logged on to find the sewers flooded completely , i doubt it was an accident though because someone had cut the corners off to allow the water to flow around the "flood blockers" .

I changed all those flood blockers yesterday so they are admin blocks because someone had flooded it last time by removing the non admin blocks, shame its flooded again, sponge the roof to get the level right.
 
I've not checked the work I did last night, I started using admin blocks but done a small bit, i need to carry on when i get time unless another admin has filled in for me. Once the blocks are in place, flooding should be nomore.

The admin blocks at start sound promising :D

I'll try and get one later before I go bowling
 
who the hell is sad enough to purposefully flood the sewer by cuting off corners :/

fair enough if you have an accident (although would be best to de flood unless you really dont know how) but that pic makes it obvious someones done it on purpose

Yeah, I've heard of this, and, although most people don't like it, it should be fine for our private server, and definitely stops griefers (or at least, allows us to identify them). Perhaps we should require people to post here before they are allowed out, so we know who they are, and whether they've only signed up to OCUK to get into this server.

rghjones, any admin can make you an admin. I don't know what Rroff thinks about it, but I know you're trustworthy, so I'll op you. :) If he does anything, blame me :D
 
Right, jail is up. Not the most ideal solution, but I'm sure 3 seconds of inconvenience to someone is better than hours of work destroyed by griefing.
 
I don't personally like spawn jails , if you logged on for the first time and were stuck in a jail with no admins on , would you try again ?

I agree though , it will stop a lot of griefers :)

I don't like em either, but hopefully, with enough admins, there should always be one on at peak times (and since most of us are UK based, that shouldn't be a problem). Out of peak times doesn't matter as much, because there'll be less people, and more griefers.

Hopefully it should stop ALL griefers, while only annoying a couple of people, and personally, annoying a couple of people isn't as important as losing hours of work.
 
didnt know what the jist of that jail was (when i entered i was stuck in dark box...) so made a temp one that is full size of the top of the spawn tower. people wont be able to leave the top of tower but they can atleast see the map instead of just darkness

not much of a fan of it either but its better than someone of the other ideas people had
