can any admins give me access, stuck in jail on city map

Noooo nonononono.

If you make a full one, you can glitch to get out, it has to be 1x1 so that you can't place any blocks.

I don't know why you could only see darkness though, it should only be blocked up to waist height so you can see over.

ah right. never new you could glitch out

when i joined before it was a full box round spawn. as in could only see admin blocks in every direction and height

It's in Rroffs trust. The city one. Though now we have a jail... people aren't going to bother waiting to be made an admin and/or admins will just end up having to op random people anyway. Daft idea.

The idea is, that if an admin is online, then the jail is left open so players can explore happily. When all admins are signing off (ie at night when the griefing happens) the jail is closed (and suspect players are possibly kicked). Its not really a problem to users as an admin is online at most times anyway.

And if not its a state someone has put us in and its what we have to do to stop the troubles, if everyone could play nice it wouldn't be and issue but you always get someone with nowt better to do.

We spent ages on it yesterday, we also dug up the floor and layered under the sand, its taking ages i'd say its 1/2 done!

What could you do in a 5x5 box that you can't do in the 1x1 box? You can't see much more, and the griefers can still get out. Plus, why is it wasting your time? You only have to log on and someone will let you out. Takes all of 5 seconds.

You can't be THAT desperate that you have to look at the bottom of the tower within 5 seconds of joining, can you?

I logged on, Andy123456 was on there. I sat in a 1x1 box unable to get out. He was AFK. I quit.

Oh, sorry, I assumed you meant changing the box from 5x5 to 1x1 ruined it for you. Sorry about the jail, but there's no point going on minecraft to have to rebuild everything that griefers have destroyed, and a jail is the only way to keep them out when we aren't there. Perhaps after we waterproof most of the major sources of water or large underground areas, or we catch the griefers, we can remove the jail, but until then, I think it'll have to stay.

Although it must have been late when you went on last night, because I was on until 12.30.

Oh noes. There is some way to get out of the jail on my server. I think they can either teleport to a location or just simply walk straight through them if they want.

Jails are pointless - you can build them so the player can only spawn on one square (with no headroom) to prevent them misusing the spawn feature to get out - but most griefers use hacks that let them move out anyhow.

Ah, I didn't know that. Well, I'll leave it up to you, seeing as how it IS your server

For the casual griefer though, it seems to have worked, and afaik, there's been no griefing today.
