After searching the minecraft for days on end. I find that NOBODY gets help with these questions and the people who say its fixed dont share on the minecraft forum.

I cant seem create a minecraft server. I have changed the port to 80 as its always open on my router, and iv changed it in server properties.
I run minecraft server as an administrator. This is to fix the server overloading error.
But when i try and join i get
"internal exception: java.io.ioexception: bad packet id 72"
EVERY FORUM that i see when peopel complain about this error, they get replys to edit the time on your pc. Iv updated the time and the internet time is set to
time.windows.com
I can join fine via localhost (127.0.0.1) just not WAN. I have had others try to join but same error.

Java is up to date, all windows firewalls are off. AVG is off. Minecraft is up to date

This is what i see in the console.

[INFO] Starting minecraft server version Beta 1.1_02
[INFO] Loading properties
[INFO] Starting Minecraft server on *:80
[INFO] Preparing level "world"
[INFO] Preparing start region
[INFO] Done! For help, type "help" or "?"

i cant port forward 25565 for some reason, doesnt seem to work on my crappy sky router...

94.7.24.63:80 <= if you would like to check.

anyone have any ideas?

reset router. Now i get [WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?

From my own experience:

You should either host a server OR play the game on a system. It doesn't seem to like to do both.

Thankfully you should be able to run the server happily in a VM on your machine without any conflict.
