Just wondering if minecraft is worth the asking price tag? I only have the pc gamer demo and am enjoying it, but wondering whether its worth the cost now?

I realise it was cheap if you paid whilst still in alpha etc but I've only just discovered it :)

Thanks

I've had it since Alpha too, although quite near the end. It's definitely worth it, but i seem to enjoy watching other people play it more than i do myself nowadays. That said i haven't bothered with multiplayer since the OCUK server got pointlessly confusing, but you know...

Regardless, i would still buy the game for £20. Probably twice that if i'm honest :D

It's a game that really doesn't appeal to me. I'm going to be honest and say that it looks crap but I'd be afraid to try it and be completely proven wrong, lol.

I wonder if I'll ever give it a shot.

I told my friend exactly the statement you've just made. I saw the forum post on here and thought to hell with it I'll have a go with the demo (from pc gamer)..........

I'm now hooked :(

Do it. I thought the same way about it, but a friend persuaded me and I love it. :D

It's only £17 at the end of the day. You won't regret it.

It depends on the sort of gamer you are.

If you're the kind of person who loves exploring sandbox games, then Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox game. You can play it in many different ways, so having a good imagination is a must. You can play online with friends or people you don't even know, or you can play it solo. You can spend vast amounts of time building structures/settlements, explore vast underground caverns, go mining, go monster hunting, set up elaborate traps to kill animals and monsters, build a fully functional computer within a computer game, or erect giant penises made from diamond.

The game is worth more than £17 to me, it has provided hundreds of hours of entertainment.

I'm sure I don't need to reiterate all the points others have made so I'll just throw in a "Hell yes get it". I've had it since a week after release and I'm still playing it religiously.

I'm embarrassed to say that my laptop doesn't run it too well, lol.
But what I've gotten from it says that there's a lot of freedom in it. Maybe some day I'll cough up £17 but I'll wait until I'm on my PC to give the demo it's full run.
