Hi, i have old parts in my case laying around that i could use to do such a build.
questions
1. How many times in a year you have to change the mineral oil?
2. Is it worth doing?
3. What you think about it?
4. Does it smell? :p

Mineral oil will eventually eat through all the plastic components won't it?

What I'd love to do is make a case that's part fish tank and part PC, but with the water in the fish tank the same as that to cool it, but it would be expensive and I have no idea how to do it without having a fish sucked aganst the pump filter, unable to move, slowly dying.

lol is it a pc or is it a fish tank
i think if u like the look go for it
its more of a show piece, atleast ive only seen them at shows :)

i think u only need top it up? duno tho

Have a quick google for "mineral oil pc", top link should be a website with an F.A.Q (site also sells computers and parts so i'm not linking it). It has a forums too, best bet is asking on there.

tbh, its a good cooling solution for overclockers... Just as long as you got the mineral flow in the fishtank... No dust either and close to complete silence even though you could put 2 690`s, since the fans would barely spin.

I know that its silent thats why i thought of this idea.
But for how long would it last with out doing any thing to it?

Put a cage around the filter with a 'No Swimming!' sign and a couple of sardine heads on spikes.
