Hello @ all,

Im looking to build a mini barebones system, as in a Shuttle PC i will have a limited Budget, so using perhaps bits from clearance and Bgrade would be helpful if they are cheeper, now i already have some RAM DDR400 1GB, So i would like to be able to use that, so im looking to also use my old PCIE Geforce 6600 that i have kicking around, i have a HDD so really im looking for the case and M/B and CPU, any ideas? I would like a dual core if possable.

Thanks, Maybe the Max i can put in is about £250 may be able to push it higer but not by much.
thanks

Because of the parts you already have I think this might be your best bet however socket 939 does not offer much in the way of upgrade potential for the future since they have stopped making CPUs for it. :)

Antec NSK1300 ATX Cube Case - 300W PSU £49.99
(£58.74) £49.99
(£58.74)
Asrock 939NF6G-VSTA Micro ATX (Socket 939) PCI-Express DDR Motherboard £44.99
(£52.86) £44.99
(£52.86)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail £99.99
(£117.49) £99.99

I do not need this system to be future proof as its not going to be used for very long, its more of a stopgap measure!

If you don't need it to be future proof I'd be quite happy recommending that system then because AM2 doesn't support DDR and there are very few mATX motherboards for socket 775 that support DDR plus OcUK sell none of the ones that do. :)
