Mini display port to Display port 1.2 for 60hz gaming on 4k display

Hey guys

Wondering if you can help, i have a HD7970 which has 2x mini display port at the back but i want to connect it to a Asus PB287Q which requires a display port 1.2

Wondering if a standard cable of mini display port to display port will get me the 60hz gaming on this 4k monitor?

I have the same card and use a wee mini dp to dp adaptor thing, nothing special just a cheap non branded fella, works a treat, enjoy!
On another note I was very surprised by how well the 7970 does in crossfire mode in 4K, huge bonus!
