Mini Displayport to VGA

Any reason why I won't be able to use a Mini Displayport to VGA adapter with a card such as the following: http://www.overclockers.co.uk

You can send VGA over a DVI cable, it's called DVI-A instead of DVI-D but you need a DVI-I port for it to work (you simply buy a DVI-VGA adapter).

DisplayPort is digital only though.

I have a fullsized displayport->vga adapter here somewhere that was used for my old PPC Macbook. I wouldn't be surprised if the display ports in modern cards are digital only, though.
