Hiyya, I've been looking around places locally but no one seems to sell mini dp to normal dp cables and I'm looking to compare picture clarity at 2560x1600 on my dell monitor to the dvid-dual link cable it came with. Am I likely to experience any improvement from using this port at all?

Additionally where on earth do I buy the cable needed to do this and does it need to be active?
 
Just a bog standard cable is required, no fancy active shenanigans needed. Just google "mini dp to dp".

I never noticed a spot of difference on my 3008.
