mini-dsplay-port to DVI-HELP

I want to run 3 monitors on my 7970 graphics card, the monitors are not all the same they all have diferent connections.

1) HDMI-HDMI port--Done

2) DVI-DVI port -- Done

3) minidisplay-port to miniport to DVI connector- DVI Done

But its not showing anything at all on miniport I dont want eyeinfinaty because screens are at diferent size so gaming is out of quistion with it, I just want to use a external monitor on it so all together 3 monitors.

Make sure the mini-displayport to DVI adapter is an active one. A third screen requires an activate adapter.

I dont understand when you say active adapter, I got a mini-displayport to dvi apapter and pluged it in but screen still not coming on at all.

Is this an ATI only problem?

No issues running 4 displays from an Nvidia card, one using normal DisplayPort to DVI cable.

An active adapter has a USB cable and provides extra power to do the conversion. As above, they cost a few bob.

Do you have a link to the adapter (i.e., where you bought it)?

Read this for more. AMD recommends some adapters and specifically states that 'active' adapters are what's needed to run more than 2 monitors: http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx

Not an active adapter at that price! See my link of AMD recommended Eyefinity Dongles and make your purchase based on the resolution you need

NVIDIA only supports running more than two displays on the very latest generation of GPUs. AMD supported more than two since the 5xxx Radeons on the conditition that number 3 and up are connected on the displayport connection either using the displayport signal itself or an active adapter. These active adapters no longer require to have an USB cable btw as displayport seems to provide some power.

The HIS Active Mini DisplayPort to Single Link-DVI Eyefinity Adapter should do the trick.

For miniDP to DVI you need one like this: HIS Active Mini DisplayPort to Single Link-DVI Eyefinity Adapter £23.99

It's single link so as long as the monitor is 60Hz up to 1920x1200 resolution It'll do the job.

If the monitor is 120Hz or a higher resolution then you'll need an active dual link adapter which is £74.99 when in stock.
