Hi All, need to make a decision today, or tomorow at the latest which <£200 camera I want, the options posed to me are :

Panasonic NVGS27B
Canon MV890
Sony DCR-HC24
Samsung VP-D361

Now I like the feel of the Panasonic the most, was the best one to hold, but im told it has only 1 hour battery life and its £35 for a second battery, where as with the Samsung it has a 2.5Hour battery life and for the same price as the Panasonic you get 2 batterys.

I want to make sure the one I pick has the best quality video recording that I can get for a cheap camera, and that it has a decent battery life... Thanks

Jcb33! :D

I've got an old panasonic and is happy with it.. Dont worry about the battery prices, Im sure you can buy third party batteries for 1/4 of the price.

My dad has a Canon which I thought was awful because you can hear the mechanism/motor for the tape on your recording if its quiet.

Dont know anything about Sony and Samsung.

If you are into editing it might be worth getting one with firewire IN, aswell as out.. But to be honest most of the stuff I edit goes straight on to DVD, and I never bother recording back on to the tape.

I have a Panasonic NV-GS11 , brilliant picture quality and very nice to use . Got a spare battery together with a charger that works from the mains as well as the car ciggy lighter from *-bay .I've owned a Samsung , I thought the picture was a little grainy .Cannot vouch for the other well known brand names , but I also own a Sharp VL-WD450 , picture quality is very poor and on the dull side .So ,stay away from Sharp. So ,there you have it................it's got to be a Panasonic m8.
