mini dvi port variations - quick question...

ok, so i already have an adapter which connects my previous gen (2.2GHz) Macbook to the DVI port on my monitor... will this adapter be capable of connecting the new iMac to an external monitor?

the reason i ask is that i've seen Mini DisplayPort to DVI and also Apple Mini DVI to DVI and a few other variations...

do i already have what i need?

EDIT: looking at it a bit closer, i think the one i have is the "Apple Mini DVI to DVI Adapter" which should be fine... didn't want the mac to arrive and not be able to hook it up

The new iMac is Mini Display Port out so you'll need a new adaptor.

i had a look on the apple store, and the only one i can see which is mini displayport to dvi is this one:

but iMac isn't in the compatability list it just says "Compatible only with MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air with Mini DisplayPort."

so i'm a bit foxed as to what i need to buy... could anyone give me a hint?
