Mini fail

The insurance companies are probably basing it on the basis of stupidity - if you're stupid enough to buy a mini for nearly 40k, you're probably likely to get confused between reverse and forward gears or try to park in a hedge

You are required by law to have insurance to drive in this country, as such they should be prepared to insure a vehicle, any vehicle.

Erm, it's still the owners responsibility to get the insurance - if they cant afford it or obtain it, then they shouldnt be driving the car on the road. The insurance companies have no obligation to anyone except their existing customers

Am I the only person calling this article BULL****!?

I reckon he wants a bit if publicity because he's bought a £40k Mini, I've just put the reg onto my insurance adding site (trade policy) and clicked special finish and it's accepted it straight away.

Sometimes if I buy something odd it asks me to ring the insurance company to cover that particular car, but no probs here!

"LG10SSK is NOT on the Motor Insurance Database today"

Doesn't update straight away, and anyway just did it to see if they'll accept it and I removed it straight away.

Point is that the car isnt insured by the owner - so it's not complete BS....he obviously cant insure it or doesnt want to

surely that number plate can't be the real one (regarding the people checking it with insurers etc) as he bought it and drove it away on valentines day

I did think that, but it says he bought it for valentines day. The sort of person who buys a chrome mini is probably also the sort to want to wait 2 weeks to get a better registration number
