My son received a Mini Gyro X remote heli for Christmas which lasted for about 5 mins before he decided to crash it into the side of the fridge :p and now we have a slight issue with it and wondered if anyone could shed any light on it?

Basically, the remote control can be completely turned off, yet as soon as you turn the heli on the top blades start spinning at full power with the bottom ones not moving.

If you turn the remote on and press power/up/forward then the bottom blades begin to spin but it just spins wildly out of control in circles.

I've emailed the company that makes them - Thumbsup - to see what they suggest but I seem to remember a few people on here being into these sots of things and wondered if anyone had en-counted this problem before?

I know you can buy spare parts for these things and worse case scenario is that I'll have to go and buy another one but hopefully it's fixable.

Is the remote a radio one or infra red?
Never have the heli turned on and the remote off. It will pick up interferance from other sources and do as your discribing.

Also it sounds like it is out of trim. There should be some instructions for reseting it
at start up both set of blades should rotate approximatly at the same speed

Edit: it should be fixable as both blades rotate under power, just not when there suspose to

bullit

Have you opened it up to check the servos? One has probably jammed open.

No not yet, is it fairly easy to do this? How would I reset the one if one is jammed open?

It's the same even with the remote turned on, the top blades simply spin at full speed and the bottom ones only turn when you press the power on the remote.

Will see if I can find any instructions about resetting it.

Cheers for the ideas so far guys.

get a syma 107g from modelzone if he genuinely enjoyed flying it my sons has been crashed atleast 100 times and still works almost perfectly
