Hi guys

Looking to setup myself a mini home server and just wanted to check on the cpu and board i was looking at to see what you guys think.

Not decided on a case, ram or PSU yet so would welcome some suggestions.

Do you think the above would be ok? Its only mainly going to be used as a file server and maybe the odd stream to other devices around the house.

Thanks guys

oops cant believe i just did that! i linked the wrong CPU, thanks Danny75 for the correct one!

That cpu should allow enough grunt for a file server shouldn't it?

You're welcome. And I'll take the fifth on that question as I'm not 100% sure, I'd only imagine it would be. Like UnworthyBean above, I'm not really clued up on the server side of things. Hopefully someone else will answer it.

Not a question I can answer with any concrete certainty, however I've seen AMD servers on ebay advertised as being VMWare ready so I'd hazard a "no difference" guess.
