Hi,
I'm new to forum but not so new to a overclockers site.
My old laptop is not power enough for my uni stuff so I would like to build myself a mini itx pc with budget 500-600£ more towards 500£ :)

My problem is that I'm out of the touch with latest developments in IT world and that's why I would to ask you folks for a help in putting together Mini itx pc.

What I would like to get out of it.
Ordinary word processing programs, it has to be good in multitasking and finally occasional Battlefield 3 gaming :)

For gaming I'm planning to use my TV and for school stuff I do have an old monitor but I might buy better screen in future so I'm not going to save on graphic card. I do not have operating system so unfortunately that needs to incorporated in final price. I do have mouse and keyboard.

Hopefully I gave you enough information for you

Thank you very much for your help and I'm looking forward to your suggestions :)

I would lose the OS(OP is a student, should be able to get cheaper copy, if not, use Win8 preview) and get a case.

Many thanks guys for a quick response :)
Yep case is missing. I'm working and studying at the same time so I'm not sure if I'm eligible for any discounted software.

2 options and now I have hard time to decide :)
I would like to get 4 core CPU if that's possible to squeeze in :)

How easy is it going to be with upgrades for future ?
Which o these 2 systems is better ?

Thank you and sorry for so many noobish questions

I'm not going to be overclocking-do not how and never felt a need to overclock CPU.
So what is final set up everyone would go for ?
Do you think I can get all parts before the weekend if ordered today ?
