Hi All,

I'm planning on building a mini ITX machine based on the Lian Li PC-Q11B. I haven't built a machine for a while so any advice would be much appreciated!

I have all the peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc) so just need the base unit. I also already have the following components that I'd like to re-use:

Corsair 520Watt PSU
ATI 4500 graphics (I don't game, just need HDMI and HW video decoding)
Samsung Blu Ray Drive

So, my spec so far is:

Motherboard GA-H67N-USB3-B3 (Not available at OCUK) but recommended here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18323913

I don't need to overclock as that CPU is easily fast enough for everything I need so would it be possible to passively cool the CPU - what would be a good heatsink? If not, could anyone recommend a small, quiet, HSF?

Also, what's the difference between the 2500 and the 2500K?

Thanks, R4z0r

2500k can be overclocked (with a P67 or Z68 board) and also has better onboard graphics. 2500 non K version cannot be overclocked and has slightly worse onboard graphics.
however, since they are the same price you might as well get the K version because it'll hold its value a lot better

also, the only change i'd make is the RAM to kingston's, or whatever the cheapest low profile ram is that isnt the crucial because the vengeance might get in the way of a big passive cooler

The overclocking is not really an issue as you are going for an H67 itx board, but the OEM 2500k is actually cheaper than the 2500 retail and the retail 2500k is the same price.
I've been thinking about doing something similar as a home cinema solution, I've never really seen any p67 boards but the z68 boards are about double or triple the price of the H67 ones and probably a bit over kill (for me anyway). As for passive cooling, I would have thought (could be wrong though) that you would need a pretty big cooler to do it, prob more than an itx case would provide.
Would the inbuilt GPU of the chip work insted of the ATI 4500?
