Hello people,

A friend of mine would like to have a mini-itx computer and asked me to build it for him. The budget is that of around of 800 euros including shipping.

After looking around on the website, I came out with the following components.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £159.29
1 x Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £97.34
1 x Asus HD 7750 V2 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics card £78.66
1 x BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Arctic White £63.91
1 x PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 500W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply - White £58.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) £49.16
1 x Corsair Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low Voltage Dual-Channel Kit £23.58
Total : £640.45 (includes shipping : £92.82).

I would like to keep the price of this build at around this price range. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Regards,
Kavlaier

The 7750 would be a bit underpowered for the more demanding games.

If you wanna keep the cost around the same, I'd think it would be best to drop the CPU from the i5 2500K down to i3 3220 and save £70, and then add that to the graphic card budget and get a 7850 2GB at £150 instead of the 7750.

The CPU can be upgraded later in the future when needed.

Games aren't top priority for this build. That's why i chose such a graphic card.
What is the main purpose of the system then? Cause for general usage I doubt people would even notice the difference between the i3 and i5.

Also to be honest, I would get a i5 2500K for £160, when the i5 3570K only cost a little more.

Hi so I updated the build a bit regarding the weekly offers.

Here is what I came with,

YOUR BASKET
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 660 EX OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE Assassin's Creed III PC Game £176.99
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £167.16
1 x PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply - White £68.82
1 x BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Arctic White £63.91
1 x Intel 330 Series 60GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Retail £55.06
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) £43.26
1 x Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) £29.49
Total : £604.68 (includes shipping : FREE).

I chose a 60gb ssd just to put windows and some programs that my friend will use.

I want to keep the price of the build at about 750 sterlings max. So if you think some neccesary changes needs to be made please leave it at around that price range.

Thanks in advance,
Kavalier
