Good morning all,

Fingers crossed and all being well I should be finally able to get back into the Desktop scene after a couple of years out - I've got my heart set on a Mini ITX build not just for the form factor, but space wise in my new house too. Please see the below:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,139.14
(includes shipping: £12.30)
The AIO water cooler is of course subject to change, depending on how well these deal with overclocking (I'm possibly looking to jump to around the 4.5Ghz mark if the CPU allows), and also - I'm also looking to get a 24" monitor but as it stands I'm totally unsure as to what to go for, but I would really like a thin / border less one (I was also looking at the Dell U2414H as we have these at work, but it looks like these have now been discontinued).

Edit - I know that the Super Flower PSU is currently out of stock too, perhaps another reputable brand could be recommended but I would still much prefer fully modular.

Edit 2 - Basket updated to reflect on recommendations.

Please let me know what you guys think of the build.

Many thanks - Liam.

Nice looking specs there, I'm in the middle of building an itx system as well with the same case except I went for the white one. Unfortunately I had to send my Asus for RMA so I'm waiting on that now.

Nice memory but if you can try and get the 3000mhz as that does make a difference with Skylake builds.

Thanks for the heads up about the memory, I'll make note of that!

At this stage I've had my eye set on the Asus board with how well it's generally regarded, especially it's port layout - though the Gigabyte counterpart is not to be ruled out as well.

Just about to bite the bullet and go ahead with purchasing all of the above in my edited basket - does anyone have any further input on recommendations or changes before I go ahead? I'm also still debating about the AIO water cooler and whether it's definitely the best one to go for, I was also looking at Corsair's but is there much of a difference in terms of performance / cooling between all the AIO brands?

Many thanks - Liam.

Go for it, should be a nice build. I have that mobo (2 in fact) and it's great.

Cheers chap :) That's good to know that the Asus is a great board too, I hear nothing but good things about it. Fingers crossed I have all the best of luck with it too!

Many thanks - Liam.

Spec looks good. My only comment is that's a lot of money to spend on a cooler, considering the total spend and it having a 1060, for the budget I would hope to get a 1070. As a comparison I use a Cryorig H7 on my 6600K at 4.6ghz and 1.38v, gaming temps are low 60s and quieter than the Corsair AIO I had before. Personally I would spend £30-40 on a decent tower cooler and pocket the change or use it to upgrade elsewhere.

Again nothing wrong with the spec and if you really want the AIO for looks or whatever else then go for it :)

Fair comment there about the cooler :) To be honest I hadn't researched enough into air coolers this time around and as I've always been into Be Quiet coolers since the Dark Rock days (which they still sell as the main ones I believe), they are still priced quite high in comparison to other brands, and as this Be Quiet AIO water cooler was not much more than the air counterpart I thought I'd take a punt - also taking into account I've gone down the Mini ITX route, I didn't want a big air cooler filling the inside of the case; as well as aesthetic looks too.

I know where you're coming from about only having a 1060 too, for now I won't be gaming too much and 1070 for what I will do will be overkill - plus I couldn't stretch to that budget either, I've yet to save again for a new monitor which I won't be able to get until next month lol!
