Thinking about building the above to sit in my TV rack, will feed a 50" plasma through my amp. Predominantly home theater use but may be used for a bit of gaming by my daughter, nothing hard core I don't think. Was wondering if that chip will work on that MoBo? If it will work, will I be able to do some mild OC'ing with that board if gaming ramps up?

Quite a big chunk on the PSU but it's small, quiet, modular and gold rated which is why I chose it.

Any thoughts very welcome:)

The CPU will be fine and will clock well with that board.

The PSU is made by Sirtec - they can be a bit hit and miss with quality. The EVGA GS550 is made by Seasonic, is gold rated, quiet, modular, fits in that case, has a 5 year warranty (vs 3) and is 550w vs 500w. It's where I'd spend my money.

Ace thanks very much, I'll take your advice on the PSU.

"you'll need a cooler
Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler - Black - Dimension: 95(W) x 55(D) x 136(H) mm

case - Ample space for CPU cooling (147mm in height) "

Thanks Lude1962, forgot to put a cooler in the basket, that one is brilliant value for sure.

I was toying with the idea of an AIO, maybe an H60 just because I've never used one before  is that over the top? Don't know if it would fit
in that case either.

Of course not, but modular in a tiny case makes a lot of sense and for the few quid extra it's a benefit worth having in my opinion.

It's not that tiny...20% of budget on a PSU and 5% on GPU with potential gaming duties just seems odd to me :)

Everywhere I researched had that PSU as a bit of a waste of time compared to the 450w in my smaller case with over clocked 4790k/gtx970.

I've been looking at something similar to this. What put me off is that pentium is part of the haswell refresh (i myself have a spare one). And the Asus H81I needs a BIOS update to make it work unless they're shipping it with a newer BIOS or you've got a normal haswell to update the board with.

If you take the plunge feel free to let me know if it worked out the box.
