I'm needing to swap my system into a smaller case and I'm thinking about a full swap to a SFF system.

So I'm looking for a decent motherboard but I'm not sure what to go for?

Currently I have an i7 as below in my sig... also what are the differences between Micro ATX and Mini ITX?

The main difference is the size and future expansion, with Micro ATX you will have the ability to run 2 gpu's or some PCI cards, with ITX you are extremely limited with upgrade potential, usually one or mem card slots and usually one PCI-E slot. These are more suited towards lower end cpus, I have not seen one for socket 1366 yet.

As your running socket 1366 you would ideally need to look at MATX boards.

Board below get good reviews:

Also MSI did a board which Ocuk don't do.

I'm thinking 200 quid is a little steep.. wondering if I can perhaps just get a smaller case?

Whats the smallest regular case available atm?

I'm currently in an antec 1200... I'm wondering if I can put the system in a horizontal case instead as its gonna be installed in a living room..

There's no miniITX LGA1366. You just can't get that socket on that size board, it's a chipset/VRM limitation.

If you want miniITX you could consider Sandy Bridge?

I'll look over them..

Thing is the alcove I'm installing this all in is 1400mm wide.. the tv stand I've ordered is 1200mm and that leaves very little space for a tower..

Perhaps the Sandybridge shift is the only option :(

You can sell your i7 setup on the MM, but before doing so, have on Google at various other sites as they might have a better range of cases, I used a Silverstone LC17 which took a full size board.
