Hey, I'm thinking about building a PC for the first time, so complete novice aha, anyway after consideration i have a bit of a space issue and Have narrowed it down to two Mini ITX or a Macro ITX. Looking to run the latest games on high maybe ultra on some games, budget is around £500-£550. I just don't have a clue what to put in it there is just so many options to choose from and as it's my first build it's got a little confusing.

Any help/ ideas would be greatly appreciated, Cheers.

Hi Lockey, welcome to the forum.

At that price-range, and if you need "everything", high or ultra graphics will not be achievable in most cases unless you play at a resolution lower than 1080p.

Do you have a monitor/Windows/peripherals already, or do you need those too?

I need a monitor that's about it really, could probably stretch to 600 but that would be maximum.

I'd be sticking with MATX at this budget, ITX is a bit more expensive and will offer less features at this level. Managed to fit everything in (just), the spec below at stock should run anything at a mix of Medium/High settings, and with the CPU overclocked you can either up some settings a bit more or stick with Med/High and have higher FPS. You could probably drop the price a tad by going with a B85M-D3H, but I believe only the first revision of the board could overclock, current revisions can't so it's pot luck as to if you get an overclockable one.

Also don't forget that if you need any help with assembling or overclocking, just have a look on the forums or start up a topic in the Overclocking section, we're not called OverclockersUK for nothing ;)
