Sorry for thread title, I was thinking of Micro ATX not ITX

Dear All,

PC gaming and building is not new to me, micro ATX is though. My biggest worry is getting components that will actually fit. It's easy when you're putting it all in a nice tower. I understand I can pretty much have anything in it but GPU is a risky one as it varies case per case (330mm stated in some Bitfenix without HD cage).

Required Components: Case, CPU, Mobo, GPU, PSU (pref fanless), RAM, HD (not SSD for now, 1TB is fine) After market cooler is an option as well for CPU.

Usage: Majority gaming, I don't need a super PC any more (hence wanting something small) as I have a PS4 for most my gaming, this is to be used for games I cannot get on consoles and I mainly play older titles anyway. Decent performance at 1080p would be great though on some current(ish) bench markers like Skyrim etc on high.
No preference on makes, I've stuck with NVIDIA cards mainly but now I'm more interested in that 'bang for buck'. Quietness would also be good so no AMD F16 fighter jet ref cards.

Budget: Ideally max £800, can be stretched depending on the case for going over.

Thank you.

Oh wow that's proper small!

That's really good! I'm comfortable with the fact I'm limiting myself somewhat due to the form factor but that should provide some solid 1080p gaming. I see Devils Canyon is a new CPU range, only just saw a comparison on Eurogamer. I can chop off the optical drive too and I get free shipping so that's £730.51!
You have provided an excellent blueprint there that I'm not sure I would or could tweak much further. I'll have a shop around to see what I can get the price down too inc delivery.

One thing I've looked at, possibly changing the GPu to this one as it's a higher base clock and iirc those coolers are effecient and quiet:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X Rev2.0 WindForce 3X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £217.99
Total : £227.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Well, I'll be coming from a 4770k 1440p gaming rig to 1080p but once I'm over the initial 'trauma' I know I'll be fine. This suits my needs more than enough and my previous setup was totally overkill and an unnecessarily powerful machine.

Oh that's tempting, if I was careful with position could I put my monitor on top of it you think? It's just a 24" slim one. If I don't obstruct any vents I don't see why not. That could actually be a winner as I'd save desk space.

Just looked at the benches, at 1080p that card pretty much keeps up with my 780 GTX I had! Probably not the overclocked Classified but still, great value. Noted about the vents, I think as I'm a bit cack handed maybe the Micro build will be easier for me as I'd have more space.

I'll get angry and break something. I think as I'm worried about Aheat I'll also get some IC Diamond 7-Carat Thermal Compound. I understand that on a Sapphire R9-280x you don't void the warranty by reapplying this stuff as there is no sticker on some screw (apparently). Maybe it's overkill but I'm a temp and noise freak which is probably unfortunate for a Micro ATx build as obviously airflow is compromised somewhat.

dunno about the warranty with sappire, best bet is to check with ocuk on that
and no, the airflow on the tj08 is perfectly adequate lol

Ya, It is cool to have, I am a bit annoyed I didn't go a single width gpu, a mITX & a Element Q. I get obsessed with stuff at times.

Yes I think it may be a bit tight for what I wan't but it would certainly have it's uses in a different application I think.

Oooh that's interesting build as well. Got my first component, an MSI OC R9-280x off MM for £140 :)

Really like the SG10 case, think I shall go with that as it has a lot of options for fans (which I like).
