Hi all,

Hoping you can help with some questions and validation regarding this shopping list (similar to previously posted builds).
First time trying to squeeze stuff into a small case, so am a little wary.

It will primarily be used for gaming (sim racing), and sometimes find itself at friends/relatives (hence the preference for a small case). I would like to game using multiple monitors, so questions are about the suitability of the components and perhaps whether I should perhaps just use a larger case/SLI.

- i have selected OC's 970 card, is this a better choice for small cases wrt to heat dissipation?
- the case has two adjacent fan openings, would these be sufficient for other cards that throw heat around within the case?
- will temperature be an issue running three monitors for gaming? Doesn't have to be 1080p, top graphics settings, etc.
- can i make use of the mobo/cpu video output at the same time as the gfx card's? eg. run three for the game, and one/two for light apps?
- do OC offer a build service?

Would really appreciate your thoughts, thank you in advance.

Don't bother with the short cable set since those cables are actually longer than the ones that come with the PSU!

The 970 should run surround 1080p fine and with the reference cooler it'll suck in air from outside the case through the dedicated vents and blow it out the back so no air will circulate into the case. having the card up top in its own area pretty much isolates it from the rest of the system

It'll be a bit fiddly and tight to get the H55 into the case though, but can be done.

You can't run onboard GPU and the 970 together without having Lucid Virtu on the board, which I don't think that one does.

OcUK sell pre-built systems, but I don't know if they have an actual build service for a custom spec. Drop them a line to see.

Thanks for the feedback, especially the reassurance with multiple monitor and temperature/cooling queries.

I did get in touch with a representative yesterday about a build on site quote with the component list. However, they have not yet come back to me - *edit!*

Wait n see, hopefully not too long as these gaming laptops are a temptation ...
