Hmm, just had another idea. Rigging a PIR sensor to the on/off switch turns said spy cam into a motion sensing recorder, combined with that jelly lens it would cover a room quite nicely.

lol at the cat. my cat wouldnt hold still for long enough to put a helmet on it. he'd probably rip it off sometime during the day, meaning i'd lose my camera. make sure that cat cant rip it off

Get a few together, attach keyring camera to the bottom, looking down.
Attach balloons and camera to lightweight (12lb?) fishing line on a reel. I've got 600m reels, possibly use a 1000m line?
Wait for a completely still day, and launch it off the island. I wonder what the view would be like, how far it would travel etc.
