Mini monitor…… or something else to fill case?

Most full sized cases nowadays look empty at the front where in times gone by, optical drives and several HDDs used to fill it. Big money custom water cooling rigs and reservoirs would fill this space beautifully, but although I’d love to do it, money and need prevents.

This has led me to think of mini monitors…. Some bling and interest which in reality has little real world use for me displaying PC stats. Easily available for sub £100, often around £60.

A couple of questions if I may for those who have one or are in the know:

1. Any recommendations or ones to avoid?
2. I have 80mm x 300mm to fill. Any long tall ones?
3. All of these mini monitors seem to be 60hz. I’ve read some reviews saying that using one defaults all monitors to this which is a problem if your main monitor is 120hz. Is there a workaround?
4. Mini monitors are basically a 2nd monitor plugged into the GPU. Is there any worthwhile extra GPU stress that would be detrimental to gaming or just irrelevant?

Thoughts appreciated.

Ltt just did a silly build around all the internal monitors. Bottom line, more than one is finicky and yes, the different software packages (whatever you are running to display stats etc, does impact gaming, but I imagine just having aida64 or hwinfo running isn't going to be much of a problem.

There are all sorts of sizes, long and thin do exist although I'm unsure of the exact sizes.

Mixing hz, used to be a problem, think it got fixed a while back though, I can certainly set my monitors to different hz fine and it doesn't seem as annoyed when dc/reconnecting one whatever it's hz. But YMMV with these random screens if they require any specific drivers etc.
