After receiving a nice bonus i decided to buy her indoors a new car, so to cut a long story short, she plumped for a 2005 Mini Cooper [ trust me i tried to get her into a Cooper S but no luck]

Anyway the point to the thread, runflats!!!! Got to get them off they are awful.
What should i replace them with, i have read issues of the central display throwing up tyre pressure warnings if you do swap them over so would need to cure this also.

So in summary

new tyres required,which?
what to do with pressure warning lights?

I've got Vreidsteins on mine, they're ok I guess, decent enough all round tyre. Any mid range upwards should be fine I'd guess.

As for the light, mine came on for a few minutes when I changed wheels and tyres but it just goes off again once the systems figures everything out. It's never returned since.

Well she is now looking at BBS rims in 18 flavour so we can forget the runflats question i guess. eidolon how long does the light stay on for?

Usually with runflat systems you can reset it before your journey and when you drive for a few minutes it will have worked out the changes. Only have to do it once after the tyre changes.

We want to change the 17" runflats on the 2005 Works. Thinking of Vredesteins but not sure yet. Open to recommendations! :)

Definitely don't get 18s unless you want to bounce all over the road, stick with 17s if you want some degree of comfort

What are they like for tyre noise?

I'm not sure if my tyre noise is down to the Vredsteins or my poly wishbone bushes.

Relativley low noise in comparison to most, as someone just said, they're great for hooning around, i've just had 2 new ones on the front and just breaking them in.
