After some advice if possible on what people would recommend....

The Shuttle PC I had as a Media/File server died when it suffered the Capdeath syndrome, What would you replace it with? I was looking at another Shuttle but also saw the QNAP NAS's which seem to be rather cool and can do a lot via the Apps you can install..

Details of the QNAP NAS - http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=183

Open to suggestions, PC or NAS?

:D

If you've got the money, NAS. If not and you're handy with Linux, build a server yourself. Personally, I have a home built rig from old parts. But I'd love a Drobo.

I've got the QNAP 219(something) and I've got to say I love it. I don't use it to it's full potential but I'm always discovering new things that I can do with it.

Even though they might be a bit more expensive that other NAS's I think it's awesome. Looks good, well built and as before jam packed with features (jam not included).
