Mini PCI-E slot in Sapphire Pure Fusion Mini E350

Hi

I've got a Sapphire Pure Fusion Mini E350 that I'm using in a NAS box and am wondering what do to with the Mini PCI-E slot in it.

It doesn't need wireless so my two ideas are:
Get a PCI-E SSD (like the ones used in ASUS eee & Dell Mini netbooks) to boot from, freeing up a SATA port.
Get a Mini PCI-E to PCI-E x1 riser / adapter so I've got a few more options.

Thoughts? Any other suggestions?

I also thought about the mini SSD but rw speeds are pretty rubbish. Ahhhh yes now I remember... I was thinking about a mini pci-e capture card

I was surprised when I saw you could get a four serial port Mini PCI-E card. I keep thinking of Mini PCI-E as laptop only...
