Hello all!

I have been slowly building up to a build with some current hardware and some new parts thrown in. Before all that I would like to show you something I have been working on today.

I'm sure that I dont need to link the Asus ROG logo for you all. But I wanted to make a custom fan grill using acrylic for the back fan of my 750d build.

Step 1: Idea and design

Using 2D design I traced the component parts for the build. Wanting to make this a twin layered design. 6mm thick in total. Hopefully I will look tasteful.

Further development of the design to create the 2 layers for the fan grill. I wanted them to both have the M4 holes so that it would be easier to align the parts later.

The final designs for the grill and logo. Left is the upper layer and Right is the grill with the logo supports.

Step 2: Testing in card

I wanted to make sure it all fitted together. Using the 1mm contours to get a black border around the symbol was a major pain as the laser starts to curl the card. A liberal application of pritt stick got it looking like this. :D

Step 3: Acrylic and Assembly

Checking individual parts showing that I can get a few more bits from this sheet! <-- suggestions?

An appropriate adhesive, in this case Tensol and a syringe to apply.

In my 750D that looks a little bare perhaps. However I think it fills that area really nicely. I will swap the silver bolts for some black ones when the build is finished. The cables will also be sleeved, ewwww colours!

Hope you like my afternoon spent playing with the laser cutter. I certainly had fun!

Any suggestions and feedback welcome!

Cheers

Thanks, im pretty happy with it! :)

Currently working on a full front panel for my 750D (With rad mount & vents!) and a PSU tunnel before I pull the trigger on the additional parts and transfer everything across!
