Can anyone recommend where to hire a minibus from? It's needed for 2 days and about 12 seats will be enough. Just the minibus, driver isn't needed.

Or do you know roughly what we should expect to pay?

Thanks

Try to find a local guy who has one, not a big firm. There is a minibus local to us that is funded by some 3 villages church organisation thing, but its less than half the price to hire than one from a big hire firm.

The "not for hire" bit means that the passengers can't pay the driver. Ie, it can't be used as a taxi or similar, unless the driver has cat D1 on his licence. Apart from this, anyone over 21 with two years Cat B experience can drive a minibus provided they're not getting paid for it.

-EDIT- Plus, the bit you've highlighted is talking about PCVs manufactured over 30 years ago.

Regardless of hire or not, dont you need to do a seperate test to be able to even drive a minibus? There no minibus class on my licence (22) and my parents have older licenses that allow them but they still had to do some training test thingy, although it was to do with Brownies and taking kids and things..
