My 3 year old 350W Nexus NX-3500 has suddenly developed 'problems'. I was thinking of replacing it with a less wattage model of 300W (Nexus NX-3000) but will it be sufficient for my system?

Spec:
1gb pc2100 RAM
Athlon XP 2200
160gb HD
DVD-ROM
DVD-RW
ATI 9700 Pro
Audigy 4

It should be fine in that you don't have a very demanding system, is there any particular reason for picking a Nexus? You could get an Akasa 400w PSU for ~£40 and it would also work if you wanted to transplant the PSU to a new system. :)

The only reason is that it is ultra quiet - being in the 18dB range. However my nexus did break down so im open to suggestions if there are better silent PSUs out there? Don't want to go down the fanless route.

Thats also the reason why I want to go for the 300W version because its quieter and cheaper!
