Thinking about moving from an EVGA 9800 GTX OC to the Gainward GTX 260. Question is, do I have enough power for it?

My rig, not including current gfx card:

Q6600
8Gb ram
Gbyte P35-DS4
160Gb HDD
200Gb HDD
1Tb HDD
DVD ROM
Corsair 520W

Will the Corsair be enough to run this with a GTX 260 on top?

You've got a decent brand name PSU, so it should be fine. Does the PSU have 2 dedicated PCI-e power connectors? Also, you are running quite a few other things off it so may be a good time to upgrade?

Yes, it does. I'm using them for the 9800.

Could be. I have a spare 700W psu kicking around that's only seen a few weeks' use.

The PSU is perfectly fine and there is plenty of power as I have an almost similar setup but with the GTX280 instead.

Thanks for the advice.

agreed you'll be fine with that psu, the book say's min 450w but i think they base that off lower grade psu's your corsair will be fine

Just wondering then, my VX550w will be fine then?

I have a e5200 @3.5... (read my sig)

I want to run a 260, i wasnt sure about power though.

Cheers :)

I have the exact same setup (although with PCIE soundcard and 10 USB 2 devices thrown in on a P45 mobo needing the 6 pin mobo power connector instead of the 4pin found on P45) and it works fine heavily OCd :D
