I have the following system and have to send my PSU off for RMA, so I'm not without a pc I have decided to buy another PSU and use that while mine is being replaced.
Once my RMA is back I am then going to upgrade and give most of the below parts to a build for my 10yr old to play FPS against me online etc. Now i'd rather keep the Coolermaster (assuming they give me a decent replacement) for my new upgraded system so what is the min I could get away with for the majority of the below system in terms of PSU power.

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz
Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58
XFX Radeon 5870
OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3 1333MHz
Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB
Samung 1TB storage drive.
LG GW-H20L BluRay-RW
Nec 24WMGX3 LCD
Silverstone Fortress
Coolermaster Real Power M1000w PSU

i had a ocz stealthstream 600w psu in a similiar system....ud7 mobo instead of ud5 and 460 instead of 5870...it lasted 4 weeks .....im in process of sending it back under rma...they are crap

Had my SXS 600w for two years and it was still going strong until I put in my new PSU. It's now my spare.

All brands of PSU fail sometimes.

ocz psu doesnt have a very good name on the forums....im sure many others have had problems....i would never buy ocz for psu again but i think ocz are only going to be making ssd from now on anyway.....when i received the psu first thing i noticed was the weight...it was very light which isnt a good sign of a well built psu....i didnt have a lot of money at the time and assumed because it was ocz it would be decent quality but found out later that there made by a third party and branded ocz...if i were you id get this

i used a 780W modXstream OCZ PSU for my Q6600 gtx295 rig for 4 years and it never missed a beat. (just try not to use too many adapters, mine didnt like adapters... probably the graphics card though)

pc power and cooling are a quality company...ive had one of there psu around 2007 for my first 6800 ultra sli rig.......the ocz i was sent was nothing of the quality of pc power and cooling

The new Stealthxstream ll are a completely different psu than the original and are far superior. I have had a play with one and they seem to be a well built quality unit and are quiet in operation. They also have a decent weight to them. They have also been getting good reviews.
