Hi,

I have bought an XTX Radeon 6770 as an upgrade for my current pc.

I installed it but there is no signal going to the monitor (previous post on this in graphics card forum suggests that the motherboard may be too old to run it).

I'm looking for a minimum (cheapest!) upgrade of motherboard and processor (if upgrade to processor is necessary) to allow me to run the Radeon 6770.

My spec is:
motherboard: MSI P31 Neo2-FR Intel P31 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 (MB-095-MS) ..... [ms-7392]
processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2200 Socket 775 2.2GHz 800FSB
psu: ocz 500w

i was recommended to buy the following a few months ago - is this still my best bet or have things moved on?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte H61M-S2PV Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £46.99
1 x Intel Pentium G620 2.60GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £41.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G) £23.99
Total : £123.47 (includes shipping : £8.75).

Really appreciate the help.

Thanks.

Paul

then again, i would recommend going with the AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition, although it is more expensive than the processor you have selected it is considerably better for gaming, you can get a amd mobo and ddr3 ram for about £60

Proof please.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use that card with your existing kit.
It has a pcie x16 slot - 1st gen mind, but should still be backwards compatible. I'd try testing it in another machine to see if it works properly first.
