Hi All

My old uncle likes his games :D

He's got a fairly reasonable machine but it won't play Far Cry 2.

His spec, A64 3000, 1.25Gb RAM, 5900XT (AGP).

Minimum spec for the game requires A64 3500, 6800 or 1650. 1Gb Ram.

Cost is a big factor to getting this game to run. I see there is one AGP card for sale on OCUK. Will that give enough grunt to get this game running? OcUK GeForce 6200 256MB DDR2 HDTV/DVI (AGP) - Retail. I'm guessing not but I'm not an expert!

If the card is man enough, what is the chances of the processor just about coping?

Worst case scenario, what are the upgrade options (will prob need a PSU with it).

Thanks for your time :p

Well you have answered your own question. The minimum is an Athlon 3500.

However, these are minimum spec and not recommended specs which is really what you should be aiming for.

You would be surprised how much the components would go for on an auction site, possibly put that towards building a new system?

Yup - I just got 75 quid for my old X1950 512 AGP .... if money is a factor you can normally sell your old components on a certain auction site for a bit of profit.
